I want to get a clean blues tone to solo with. I have an epiphone les paul special II, a spider III 15w amp, a digitech rp90 guitar effects, and a boss dynadrive pedal. Please mention things like amp types and EQ settings. Thanks for any help.
Hello there,
Amp settings are really subjective. What I like you may not. Here is a setting you can try.
Drive at 4:00
Bass at 7:00
Mid at 4:00
Treble at 1:00
Channel volume at 1:00
I am not sure if the number settings are the same on a 15 watt Spider as they are on the 150 watt Spider. So I gave you the settings in relative position. That should work on your amp even if the numbers are different from my amp.
Try that setting on both the Blues Red LED and the Crunch Red LED to see if you like either. The Blues Red is sort of a vintage Marshall and Fender Vibroverb mixture. The Crunch Red is pretty much Marshall Plexi sound.
Clean means no distortion, overdrive or the like. So you two pedals are pretty much not needed for a clean sound. You can add just a touch of reverb to give some depth to that sound, Set the reverb near the lowest settings, either a 1 or 2. That would be the only effects I would use in a clean tone.
