Flatwound Guitar Strings

flatwound guitar strings
how often do guitar strings tear off?

lets say playing jazz with flatwound strings (10 to 42-56ish), 1 hour a day, everyday?
when one string pops, do you just just replace it, or have to change all of them?

depends on what your doing not what type of music your playing. jazz is one of the fastest kinds of freestyle music if you are doing it that way. if it is th slow kind than don't worry about it. you usually wanna change your strings once every 3-5 months anyways if you are playing it that much. I don't personally because I feel that the wear, tare, and grease of past playings make the guitar sound better.

ADDED ON: usually, the bottom thicker strings won't break as easily but the top strings are usually the first to break. what I do is for the first 4 bottom strings I use the regular electric guitar strings and then for the last two I use bronze acoustic strings. they have the same sound as the regular strings( if not better) and they are more durable so as not to break as easily if you are really wailing on it. unless you tune it to high of course.
