Guitar Frequencies
GUITARIST!! Will you explain to me the frequency on guitar? ?
I am learning guitar and my teacher gave me an assignment to "Find out about the frequencies." So please, if anyone can give me, a beginner, the information on it.
The string vibrates between two fixed points:
1 where it is stretched over the saddle of the bridge and
2 near the opposite end of the string, where it passes over the nut
When a guitar string is picked, the vibration produces a standing wave on the string. The fixed points of the string don't move (nodes), while other points on the string oscillate back and forth maximally (antinodes)
How far the strings move in their vibration is what the various frequencies are.
Different instruments have different note frequencies. It's not very important to know these in order to play. It is good knowledge though.
